Where We Come From

Our Humble Begining

The school was founded on the 20 JANUARY 1967. It was started by Mr RAZWINANI GILBERT at the request of the community leaders. On the very first day, Mr RAZWINANI managed to register 30 learners, as the year went on the enrolment of the school was standing at 83 learners.

The following year i.e 1968, saw the appointment of Mr MAGOSHA S.H as the first principal of the school and since then the following principals led the school in the following sequence:

  • Mrs MAKHODE E.M from     21 APRIL 1971               to         13 JANUARY 1975
  • Mr RAMAITE A.H from     14 JANUARY 1975         to         13 JUNE    1979
  • Mr MALANGE S.A from     14 JUNE 1979                 to         12 FBRUARY 1984
  • Mr Mulungwa T.D from      13 FEBRUARY 1984     to         30 JUNE 2012
  • Mrs LIGAVHA T.A from     13 MAY 2013                  to date

The school has since moved from strength to strength that today is boasting the enrolment of 809 learners.

The school has had its highlights as well as its setbacks to mention but a few. During the introduction of Rationalism of posts and Redeployment, the school teacher enrolment went down from 20 educators to 16 educators, but has since recovered and is back at the enrolment of 23 educator’s i.e Principal, Deputy Principal, three Departmental Heads and eighteen CS1 educators.

The school has hosted two arbour day celebrations successfully and also excels in gardening. In the year 2013, it obtained first position in aspirant farmer of the year competition at district level and also position two at Provincial level. The garden continues to feed learners for National School Nutrition Programme (NSNP) and the community at large.

The school garden somehow caught the attention of the minister of agriculture, Mme Thoko  Didiza. IN 2022 she sent her delegation led by the Honourable Member of Parliament Mme Carol Phiri, who brought to the school tools for the garden, e.g. Wheelbarrows, rakes, spades, digging forks and hose pipes. As if that was not enough, she also decided to donate different kinds of seedlings to the school.

Sound relationship is maintained with all other stakeholders. S.G.B. Parents in general, Neighbouring schools and the Circuit.
